Strider Hiyou (ストライダー飛隼, meaning Flying Falcon) is a minor character introduced in the 2014 Strider, as part of the "Fallen Striders" costume/alternate color set.
Hiyou was an A-Rank agent in the Striders and an expert in demolition. While he mainly employed high-power explosives, he also wielded a plasma-enhanced melee weapon known as the Cy-sickle (サイ・シックル).[1]
Among the Striders, Hiyou was an specialist in the use of explosives and the setup of traps. He was known for having an aesthetic for "unique explosions" and for being always in the pursuit of creating beautiful destruction[1]. Hiyou wore a full dark blue uniform with red leg wraps and mask. He carried the second kanji of his name, "you" (隼, falcon), as his personal emblem.
Story
Strider (2014)
Hiyou was one of the 11 agents who infiltrated Kazakh City previous to Hiryu, carrying the mission to assassinate Grandmaster Meio. Hiyou reached into the metropolis' deep Underground area, where he found himself attacked by hordes of the zombie-like Insect Troopers. Cornered by the creatures, Hiyou decided to take them out with him in an spectacular explosion, blowing himself up with a bomb he had been carrying with him.[1]
Design Notes
Hiyou's costume color scheme (dark blue/red) appears to be based off the color scheme of Lt. Linn Kurosawa from Capcom's Alien vs. Predator Arcade game.
