Strider Hoen (ストライダー鳳炎, meaning Phoenix Flame) is a minor character introduced in the 2014 Strider, as part of the "Fallen Striders" costume/alternate color set.
Hoen was an A-Rank agent in the Striders, an expert who specialized in mid-range fighting[1]. His weapon of choice was a plasma-enhanced spear known as a Cy-spear (サイ・スピア).[1]
Among his peers, Hoen was known for being a very loyal agent, being very respectful of the code of chivalry and having himself sworn absolute allegiance to the Strider organization[1]. Alternatively described as a large and open-hearted man[2], Hoen wore light green chest armor and chaps with beige under armor and leggings underneath, and a beige mask, wraps and shoes. He carried the second kanji of his name, "en" (炎, flame), as his personal emblem.
Story
Strider (2014)
Hoen was one of the 11 agents who infiltrated Kazakh City previous to Hiryu, carrying the mission to assassinate Grandmaster Meio. Hoen reached the Buried Temple deep beneath the city's Underground and challenged its inhabitant, the devoted shaman Juroung, to a fight. His skill in battle, however, proved useless against Juroung's water manipulations and Hoen was eventually defeated.[1]
Design Notes
Hoen's costume color scheme (green/beige) is based off the color scheme from the "Elf" character found in the "Dungeon and Dragons" beat-em up games developed by Capcom.[3]
