strider

A set of three desert creatures appear as stage enemies in Cannon Dancer. As the name indicates, these are three minor enemies appearing during the game's 3rd stage, the Cabil desert.

All enemy names here are descriptive and not official.

Information

Worm

Appears in Stage 3 (Cabil).

Giant monstrous Worms are one of the dangerous creatures lurking the desert. These worms have big teethed mouths, a beast-like head with green eyes and a three-segmented body with a crustacean-like exoskeleton, greatly resembling a smaller version of the monster Sandora. Fast creatures, these worms crawl around in the desert's sand dunes and leap at Kirin as soon as he appears on their line of sight, launching themselves with great force.

Worms are first faced alongside Sandora, periodically launching themselves at Kirin while he battles the larger monster. They are later found lurking around the sands of Cabil in large numbers, attacking Kirin by leaping into the air in an arc aiming at him.

Butterfly

Appears in Stage 3 (Cabil).

A swarm of small, multi-colored Butterflies are found fluttering around in the desert. Moving in groups, these little insects have colorful wings with red and yellow patterns, so vibrant their colors appear to glow. They are dangerous due to the poisonous dust they release while flying around.

When encountered, the Butterflies don't attack Kirin directly, but rather slowly fly and gather over his head, spreading their dust into him, and following Kirin around as he moves. Wnile their dust is harmless to Kirin, direct contact causes damage. As they fly very slowly, they can be easily killed.

Scorpion

Appears in Stage 3 (Cabil).

Grey Scorpions appear as another deadly inhabitant of the Cabil desert. They wander around the sands in large groups, surrounding Kirin and attacking on sight by jumping and leaping at him trying to hit him with their stings. These small enemies are not a threat to Kirin at all.

The Scorpion is notably the smallest enemy in-game capable of being caught by Kirin's throw moves, although in lieu of their diminutive size and large numbers, attempting a throws comes at risk of getting hit.
