Woods & Prague are the two locations comprising the 5th stage in Cannon Dancer. The first half of the stage is named Woods near Aleppo (記憶の森, lit. Forest of Memory in Japanese), while the second half is named In Prague, the capital of the Federation (連邦首府プラハ, lit Federal Capital City Prague).

Story

After crossing the Indian Ocean with a band of rebels, Kirin reaches European soil and continues his quest for revenge. He arrives at the Forest of Memory, a dense forest located near the Syrian city of Aleppo, named after its ability to unlock vivid remembrances sealed away in the depths of the memory of those who enter it[1]. While in the forest Kirin fends off more Federation soldiers and the dangerous local fauna until he arrives at a large metallic corridor hidden behind a waterfall. As he passes through the empty hall, he is confronted by the third and last member of Teki, who claims Kirin was already killed in a previous battle against them. Kirin and the Teki fight in remembrance of said encounter, but as Kirin emerges victorious, it is revealed this was a false memory, a scenario crafted by the Teki manipulating Kirin's memory in an attempt to make him easier to kill. In the end, the scenario is turned on the Teki, who dies as a result.

Finally reaching Prague, Kirin faces off against the defense systems and elite personnel standing as the last obstacle between him and Jack Layzon. Fighting his way through man and machine, Kirin breaches into Layzon's quarters and finally stands face to face with the traitor. Shocked at seeing Kirin alive, Layzon backs away as Kirin approaches him for the kill; but as Layzon is finally cornered in the balcony, he is suddenly struck by Slaver's sword and obliterated. Slaver then calls Kirin forward, calling herself his master and Kirin her little killing machine[2] . Jumping onto her sword, Kirin and Slaver leave Prague.

Forest of Memory
The Forest of Memory is a vast, lush forest with a river going through it, its water flowing from a waterfall deep within. There are several metallic platforms strewn around the forest, as well as floating around in the area. The main path on land is simple and straightforward, with only two vertical inclines. While traversing the woods, Kirin has to contend with tigers and large water dragon creatures called Mizuchi. The water current on the ground also slightly pushes Kirin back as he moves.

Alternatively, Kirin can take the upper route by using Crystals around the area to jump into higher platforms. This path requires moving around using either Crystals or the two Flying Ore minerals floating in place, jumping and using the gravity force to reach other platforms. While this avoids the animals at ground level, Kirin has to fight against the flying Black Commanders moving around the airspace while shooting at him.

Regardless of the path chosen, the area ends in a waterfall that hides an entrance to a large metallic corridor. As soon as Kirin enters the corridor closes up, and waiting at the other end stands the final surviving Teki. Here the player chooses one of three boss areas by attacking one of the three circular bubbles floating above the characters. Each bubble presents one of the previous stages' boss areas: Herio's Garden, the Flying Ore chamber in Cabil and the flying machine in the Indian Ocean.

Capital City Prague
Kirin arrives at Prague, the prestigious capital city of the Federation. Prague is a traditional European city with high-rise white buildings in the background sporting either pitched red or ornate gold dome-shaped rooftops, plus intricate metal catwalks and lampposts, both illuminated by blue fire lamps. Moving across the catwalks in a long vertical area, Kirin faces both soldiers and machines as he ascends to the top. There are a total of 9 ascending sections, each full of defense machines including the automatic machine turret T-Tank and Laser Blades, as well as elite soldiers on duty. While Kirin can climb and stand on the lampposts, some of them release fire from their top, becoming another hazard to avoid.

Once reaching the top, Kirin climbs across the ceiling and enters the building via a small opening, to face the final defense line: the large mechanical robot Euro-gam. Once destroyed, Kirin breaks into Layzon's chamber and confronts the traitor to finally get his revenge.
